Dear Friends,
History often calls upon noble individuals in a special situation to do more. Time is now for us.
President Kennedy once said – “Change is the law of the life. Those who look only to the present are certain to miss the future”
I’m writing to ask you to support Nancy Soderberg in her race for Congress. She brings vast experience to the position, having served during the Clinton Administration at the National Security Council and later at the United Nations. She has also worked as an aide to Senator Ted Kennedy. Nancy is a great candidate – she will win, but she needs our help!
She is running around the Daytona area in Florida, District 6, which was redrawn in 2016, making it more competitive for a Democrat. The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) has targeted the seat as a “Majority Maker.” It will be one of the key races that will help flip the House Democratic in 2018. According to a Washington Post- ABC News poll, Democrats have an 11 point edge going into the House elections this year- the widest margin in over a decade.
In addition, the incumbent, Freedom Caucus founder Ron DeSantis, is running for governor, making the seat an open one. The nonpartisan University of Virginia Center for Politics’ analyst Larry Sabato’s Crystal Ball has moved the district away from “Safe Republican.” While Hillary did not do well in the district, Senator Nelson has repeatedly won the district handily and Obama won it once – and the independents are likely to return to the Democrats in 2018. I hope you will join me in supporting Nancy. We need her in Congress! Despite all the dysfunction in Washington, I still believe citizen voices make a difference. LET’S MAKE A DIFFERENCE. Enjoy the fulfillment that comes from knowing you are helping to make history and building a better America.
In Solidarity!
